Lockport man indicted in armed robbery

LOCKPORT – An indictment was unsealed Monday against a City of Lockport man, who allegedly robbed another man of about $50 in cash at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Tops Market on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport.

Thomas D. Byrne, 36, of High Street, pleaded not guilty to first-degree robbery and petit larceny in an arraignment Monday before State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. Byrne was arrested shortly after the robbery, which occurred about 3:30 p.m. Sept. 7, after Niagara County sheriff’s deputies tracked his vehicle into the City of Lockport.

Byrne remains free on a $10,000 bail bond.
