Last year, East Aurora-born electronic music producer, songwriter and DJ Grabbitz – born Nick Chiari – did a remix of Deadmau5’s “Silent Picture.”
The high-profile Canadian electro and progressive house artist – known for performing in a giant mouse head that looks like something straight out of the creepy cult film “Donnie Darko” – took notice of Grabbitz’ efforts, and in the time since, the debut EP “Friends” hit the iTunes Top 10 Dance chart, and endeared itself to house, dub and electro fans with a taste for forward-looking dance music.
A new EP, “Better With Time,” has recently been released, and Grabbitz, who now spends most of his time in Los Angeles, has taken to the road for his first run of club dates, which includes a stop at 3 p.m. March 3 in the Town Ballroom (681 Main St.).
Grabbitz will open for Jauz, the “it boy” electro star who has worked with Skrillex, Diplo and Major Lazer. Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $23 (box office, Ticketfly.com).
