A Buffalo man last week pleaded guilty to stealing $4,000 worth of new tires and rims off a new truck at a Hamburg car dealership.
Anibal Castro, 48, pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court before Justice Penny M. Wolfgang, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Castro was arrested in the early-morning hours of Oct. 26 with another man after he was found with new tires loaded into a stolen truck and the vehicle missing the tires set on cement blocks, the district attorney’s office said. Additional cement blocks also were found in the stolen truck Castro was driving.
Castro pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglar’s tools and third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Castro is scheduled to be sentenced April 25. Castro’s co-defendant, Peter Perez, still has a case pending in court, the district attorney’s office said.
