Alleged girlfriend of major heroin dealer arrested and jailed

Brittany Ridgeway, 27, of Buffalo, the alleged girlfriend of a major local heroin dealer, was arrested Tuesday on Federal charges of helping her boyfriend deliver heroin to customers, according to federal authorities.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said Ridgeway pleaded not guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy to a federal charge of heroin distribution and ordered her jailed pending a detention hearing later this week. Her alleged boyfriend, Dellsean Hamilton, 27, of Buffalo, remains in custody on federal and state drug charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch said Ridgeway was riding with Hamilton when Cheektowaga police pulled his car off the road and reported recovering a number of bundles of heroin on March 25, 2015. Ridgeway is accused of making heroin sales to undercover federal agents in the Buffalo area his past Feb. 4 and Feb. 11. Hochul said Ridgeway, if convicted of the charge lodged Tuesday, faces a prison term of up to 20 years and a fine of up to $1 million.
