DIENSBERG, Rose (Bilger)

DIENSBERG - Rose (Bilger) Formerly of 57 Springville Avenue and for the past five years, a resident at the Beechwood Nursing Home. She suffered a stroke on February 18 and spent one day at the Buffalo General Stroke Center. Rose returned to Beechwood under Hospice care and died on February 24, 2016. Rose was born in Alsace- Lorraine, Germany and moved to the United States with her family when she was six years old. She met her husband Robert, when they were teenagers. Both of them were greatly involved as officers of the Franciscan Guild, raising money for the Sisters' education. Rose was a member of St. Benedict's Rosary and Altar Society for 58 years. She loved animals and always had a cat and a dog. Rose donated her body to UB Science. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 4 at 9:30 AM at St. Benedict's Church, corner of Main and Eggert, Eggertsville, NY, with Bishop Edward Grosz, DD and Rev. Robert Mock. She is survived by her daughter Sister Christine Diensberg, a Sister of St. Francis for over 50 years, who resides at the Stella Niagara Health Center. Rose was the sister of the late Alice. Rose would have been 100 on her next birthday, June 23! Donations can be made to Niagara County Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr, Lockport, NY 14094.
