Alden’s Fox second in state rifle competition

Section VI champion Noah Fox of Alden placed second in aggregate scoring to lead Western New York shooters (Section VI) in the State Public High Schools Rifle Regionals on Saturday at West Point.

Fox had an point total of 296.03, finishing third in offhand (85.01) and kneeling (90.01) positions and seventh in prone (94.01) in the small bore competition. Kiersten Mucha of Lancaster was fourth (263.02), Alex Raymond of Clarence was sixth (260.07), Justin Collins of Lancaster was seventh (258.06) and Eric Koeth eighth (257.07) in aggregate scoring.

Lancaster (1,019) finished second to Central Square of Section III (1,057) in the .22 caliber schools team competition and the Section VI team (1,548) was second to Section III (1,553)

Koeth shot a 90.04 for second place in the kneeling and was ninth in prone (92.03) and 10th in offhand (75.0). Mucha of Lancaster was third in prone with 96.01, fifth in kneeling with 87.01 and seventh offhand. Raymond was fourth in prone (95.060) and kneeling (88.01) and eighth (77.0) offhand. Justin Collins of Lancaster took fifth place in prone (95.04), sixth in offhand (80.01 and ninth kneeling (83.01) while Alex Hangen of Lancaster was eighth in prone (93.03) and 10th in kneeling (82.02).
