A Derby man whose driver’s license has been revoked three times fled a crash in Orchard Park Thursday night but was later captured, according to police.
Daniel R. Gorham – convicted twice of DWI in the last year – faces new charges, including felony driving while intoxicated, police said.
Gorham was involved in a two-car crash at Southwestern Boulevard and California Road just before 9 p.m., police said.
He fled the scene, but was followed by a witness, and police eventually caught up to him after he pulled into a bar parking lot at Southwestern and Abbott Road, Orchard Park police said.
Gorham, 25, registered a blood-alcohol content of .14 percent, nearly double the legal limit of .08 percent, police said.
Police charged him with two felonies for drunken driving; first-, second- and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation; driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device; leaving the scene of an accident; as well as running a red light and other traffic violations.
After being arraigned in Orchard Park Village Court, Gorham was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on $7,500 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Orchard Park Town Court on Tuesday.
