Niagara Falls home improvement contractor pleads guilty in fraud case

A Niagara Falls home improvement contractor pleaded guilty Thursday before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to cheating three homeowners in Blasdell and Orchard Park out of a total of $17,900 for work he never did.

James Lloyd, 45, contracted for the work bween July 21, 2014, and Oct. 14, Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty Jr. said. Lloyd, who pleaded guilty as charged to third-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud, faces a prison term of up to seven years when sentenced May 19, Flaherty added.
