A KeyBank branch in Williamsville branch will close May 20.
The bank will close a branch at 5556 Main St., near North Cayuga Road, and consolidate it into its North Forest branch less than a mile away, at 5200 Main St., said Therese Myers, a KeyCorp spokeswoman.
The decision was influenced by the shift of many customers’ transactions to digital options, she said. When deciding whether to close a branch, Key takes into account factors such as customer use, potential access to other branches, and customer banking service preferences, she said.
This is currently the only branch consolidation Key has planned in the area, but the bank continues to evaluate its network, Myers said.
The branch that will close was formerly an HSBC Bank location.
