Delevan man pleads guilty to molesting Machias child

A Delevan man pleaded guilty Monday to charges he periodically molested a Machias child from 2006 until his arrest late in 2014.

Traven Holmes, 29, entered his plea to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and forcible touching before Cattaraugus County Judge Ronald D. Ploetz in Little Valley. District Attorney Lori Pettit Rieman said the child was about 8 when the attacks began. Holmes faces sentencing April 25.

Also before Ploetz on Monday:

• Amanda L. Borner, 21, of Perrysburg, and Gunnar Dole, 24, Andrew Estrada, 20, and Indigo Vantino, 21, all of Gowanda, pleaded not guilty to an indictment linked to a multi-agency raid and the seizure of what authorities described as “a large quantity” of heroin and marijuana, packaged and ready for said in a West Main Street home in Gowanda last Sept. 25. Borner, Estrada and Vantino are charged each with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Dole is charged with third-degree criminal possession and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

• Daniel A. Price, 31, of Olean, who was nearing his parole from the Groveland State Prison on a parole violation charge stemming from a 2012 drug conviction in Cattaraugus County, was ordered to serve another five years and then submit to three years of post-release supervision for his felony conviction on criminal possession and criminal sale charges for a City of Olean drug deal on Jan. 2, 2015.

• Richard L. Barnett Jr., 24, of Erie, Pa., who has been jailed since his arrest in the City of Olean last May, was sentenced to a term of up to one year in Cattaraugus County Jail. He was convicted of felony third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance for an attempted drug sale in Olean last May 1.

• Alex L. Schumacker, 23, of Springville, was ordered to serve up to one year in the county jail and make more than $3,000 restitution on his guilty plea to third-degree burglary for a Town of East Otto house break-in last April 30.

• Kevin L. Todd Jr., 34, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance for an attempted drug deal in the City of Olean last July 24. He also pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance for his arrest in Olean last Nov. 18. He faces sentencing May 23.

• Adam K. Gerland, 25, of Cuba, waived grand jury action and pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for an attempted drug sale in the City of Olean on Dec. 25. He faces sentencing April 25.

• Travis M. Gilbert, 27, of Salamanca, waived grand jury action and pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary for a City of Salamanca break-in on Dec. 8. He faces sentencing April 25.

• Ryan Lewis, 20, of Olean, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief for a City of Olean house break-in July 21 that causeed more than $250 in damage. He faces sentencing April 25.

• Susanne Judkins, 32, of Machias, waived grand jury action and pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny for the theft of items worth more than $1,000 in the Town of Allegany between Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. Sentencing is scheduled for April 25.

• Terry Dechow, 49, of Randolph, pleaded to felony driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a breath screening after he was pulled over in the Town of Napoli last Sept. 9. He faces sentencing April 25.
