Goo Goo Dolls coming home in August

The Goo Goo Dolls are going back on tour and the Buffalo-born rockers will make a stop at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. Also on the bill are Collective Soul and Tribe Society.

Tickets are $29.50, $49.50 and $69.50 for reserved seating, $20 lawn and $60 for a lawn four-pack. A fan club pre-sale starts Feb. 23 with tickets going on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Feb. 26 through LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster and by calling (800) 745-3000.

The Goos, who last year celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of their smash album "A Boy Named Goo," have made a habit of playing in and around Buffalo.

The band last played together in Buffalo in September in Delaware Park at "Music is Art," the festival founded by bassists and Goo original Robby Takac. In 2014, the Goos played Darien LakeĀ  and the North Park Theatre.

And even when they're not touring together, the Goos still make their presence felt. Lead singer John Rzeznik will perform with Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates fame twice in March in Western New York: March 25 in Seneca Niagara Events Center in Niagara Falls and the next night in the Seneca Allegany Events Center in Salamanca.
