2 ex-Congressmen to speak at St. Bonaventure

OLEAN – Two former Congressmen will visit St. Bonaventure University to present a public forum on the 2016 Presidential campaign from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 7 in the Rigas Family Theater of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

James T. Walsh, a Republican who represented the Syracuse area in the House of Representatives for 20 years, and Richard H. Stallings, a Democrat from Idaho who served in the House for eight years, are appearing as part of the university’s Congress to Campus program. The forum is free and open to the public, but tickets should be reserved by calling 375-2494.

Walsh, a 1970 St. Bonaventure graduate whose papers are archived at the university, also will lead a forum for students, faculty and staff at 11:30 a.m. March 8 in the University Club. His topic will be the Northern Ireland Accords as a model for negotiating peace in the Middle East. Walsh played a major role in promoting peace in Northern Ireland in the 1990s.
