The Rev. Judge Whitt Jr., an ordained Baptist minister and assembler for Dresser Industries in Depew, died Monday in Buffalo General Medical Center. He was 64.
Born in Uniontown, Ala., Pastor Whitt moved to Buffalo with his family as a child and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He also attended the Greater Refuge Temple Bible Institute on Jefferson Avenue and was ordained in 1999 under the leadership of the Rev. Arthur Price.
Pastor Whitt also had worked for Midas Muffler, Stone Bridge Iron & Steel Inc. and Protective Closures Co.
He was a member of the House of David 93 Masons and was an associate minister at Memorial Baptist Church, for which he served on the Usher and Deacon boards. He also taught Sunday school and mission classes.
Pastor Whitt was a member and general secretary of the Baptist Ministers Conference in Buffalo for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, the former Alberta Moore, and two sisters, Vivian Evans and Mary F. Griffin.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 318 High St., with a wake at 10 a.m.
