Man at East Side store assaulted and robbed at gunpoint

A Montana Avenue man told Buffalo police he was struck with a liquor bottle and robbed at gunpoint at a neighborhood store shortly after midnight Saturday.

The man told police he was at the store at Doat and Genesee streets at 12:45 a.m., when two men wearing dark hoodies struck him in the head with a liquor bottle, stuck a black handgun in his face and robbed him. The pair took a chain valued at $300 and a cell phone valued at $500. The victim refused first aid.

The police report did not specify whether the incident took place inside or outside the store, and there was no security camera footage.
