BEMUS POINT – For the second day in a row a snowmobiler injured on a Chautauqua County trail Friday had to be taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Janine Phillips, 53, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., was injured when she struck a small tree after failing to negotiate a curve on a marked trail near Townline Road in the Town of Ellery about 9:30 a.m. Friday. She was treated at the scene and then taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown for further treatment.
On Thursday afternoon, a 44-year-old Brocton man was flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa. after he was run over by another snowmobiler on a trail off Thornton Road in the Town of Cherry Creek. And also on Thursday afternoon, 57-year-old Mayville man was treated at the scene and released after he crashed into a tree on the trail near Barnes Road in the Town of Stockton, according to the sheriff’s office.
