LOCKPORT – Rescue crews were called Monday to an apartment in the 6200 block of Robinson Road after a man living on the second floor partially fell through the floor and was trapped.
The unidentified victim was trapped between the floors with one leg extending into the first floor apartment.
Niagara County sheriff’s deputies reported they arrived at 11:30 p.m. to find fire rescue crews trying to free him. Firefighters forced their way into the apartment because the door was locked, but were able to quickly rescue the man.
The man was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport for an evaluation.
It appears the floor had been weakened by either a water leak or from repairs by building maintenance, reported deputies who handed the matter over to the Town of Lockport building inspector.
