The Canisius women’s basketball team looks to keep the good times rolling at the Koessler Center on Friday at 7 p.m. when its hosts Manhattan in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The Golden Griffins (10-14, 4-10) have already won the first two games of their season-ending five-game homestand. Should they win two more games on their court, they will finished the home portion of the season schedule with a winning record for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
Canisius looks to avenge a 77-57 loss to the Jaspers eaarlier this month. Manhattan (12-12, 9-6) has won three of its last four games and six of its last eight.
Crystal Porter leads the Griffs in points per game (10.0) and rebounds per contest (5.4).
In another Big 4 women’s clash Friday. Niagara hosts Monmouth at 7 p.m. at the Gallagher Center in MAAC play.
The Purple Eagles are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak. Despite the struggles, they enter the league ranked fourth in assists per game.
Sam Lapszynski ranks fourth in the MAAC in hlocks with 47 to lead Niagara (6-19, 4-12).
The Purple Eagles rank fifth in the conference in field-goal percentage at .385.
