Josephine A. Haas, quality control supervisor

Jan. 5, 1937 – Feb. 15, 2016

Josephine A. Haas of Hamburg, a quality control supervisor, died Monday in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia. She was 79.

Born Josephine Roth in Salamanca, she graduated from Kensington High School.

She was employed for nearly 30 years as a quality control supervisor at Ethox Corp., a medical device manufacturer in Buffalo. After retiring in the early 2000s, she worked part-time at Insty-Prints in downtown Buffalo.

She was a member and treasurer of the ladies auxiliary at AMVETS Hank Nowak Post 45 in Orchard Park. She served on several committees at the post, including the honor guard, and was well known for calling bingo games.

Her husband, Jerome P., died in 1991.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 in Castiglia Funeral Home, 873 Abbott Road.
