Aurora Theatre to host free showing of 'A Prince for Christmas'

After the village served as the setting for the 2015 filming of "A Prince for Christmas," East Aurora residents will get a chance to further appreciate their contributions at a free screening.

Open to the public, the showing will take place at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 in Aurora Theatre (673 Main St., East Aurora).

Originally titled "A Small Town Prince," the film began shooting in East Aurora on Feb. 23, 2015, creating an excited buzz among village natives and local businesses. News reporter Michelle Kearns wrote at length about the reaction here, as well as director Fred Ray's embracing of the area's restaurants.

On Nov. 29, 2015, "A Prince for Christmas" debuted on ION Television, then earned an encore presentation on Christmas Eve. While the movie starred Viva Vianca and Kirk Barker, Buffalo actress Mary Kate O'Connell played a substantial supporting role and was interviewed by Gusto editor Toni Ruberto just before the second airing.
