Sabres Prospect Update: Tough weekend for Amerks

A three-game weekend ended in a three-game losing streak for the Rochester Americans. The Amerks were blanked in home-and-home games with Albany, 1-0 and 3-0, then dropped a 4-2 decision to Hartford on Sunday afternoon.

Trailing 2-0 in Hartford, Chad Ruhwedel put the Amerks on the board in the second. In the third, Evan Rodrigues tied the game but Rochester gave up the game-winning goal 53 seconds later. Rodrigues, a linemate of Jack Eichel’s at Boston University, had a game-high six shots in the loss.

Ruhwedel returned to the lineup in Friday’s home loss to Albany after missing 15 games with a broken arm. Also returning in that game was rookie forward Nick Baptiste who missed 12 games with a lower body injury.
