Charged with threatening a witness

A 46-year-old Busti Avenue man was arrested at his home Sunday night and charged with repeatedly threatening a Breckenridge Street man he needed for testimony in a court case that was coming up.

Javier Rivera was charged with fourth-degree tampering with a witness about 7 p.m. on the complaint of the alleged victim. The victim told police Rivera confronted him four times in 15th Street earlier Sunday and used foul language to threaten him with physical harm if he did not show up for the court session, according to a police report.
