Heavy snow possible Monday evening into Tuesday

Mother Nature isn’t letting up just yet, after Friday’s lake-effect storm and the weekend’s subzero temperatures pummeled the region.

A winter storm watch calling for heavy snow mixed with sleet is in effect from Monday evening through Tuesday evening in Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties.

Between 7 and 13 inches of snow is possible, along with winds of 10 to 20 mph, which could lead to visibilities of less than a quarter-mile at times, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

Very difficult travel conditions are possible, especially during Tuesday’s morning commute, according to the Weather Service.
