LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls 16-year-old pleaded guilty Wednesday to robbing three Falls stores in one night on Dec. 11.
Shawn A. Sweet, of South Avenue, admitted to three counts of third-degree robbery. Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon agreed to concurrent sentencing, but Sweet still faces a sentence of up to seven years in state prison when he returns to court April 6.
Deputy District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann said Sweet is to be released from jail and transferred to an inpatient drug treatment program before he is sentenced.
The robberies occurred at the Valero convenience store at 19th Street and Ferry Avenue; a Family Video store on Pine Avenue; and a 7-Eleven on Niagara Street. Sweet told the clerks he had a gun, although he apparently did not.
