County Legislator Kevin Hardwick will host a HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) outreach session to assist eligible people with their heating bills from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday in the Golden Age Center, 3278 Whitehaven Road. Doors open at 8:30. All who come to apply will be interviewed.

This week:

• The Trinity Tollers handbell choir hosts its seventh annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road. Dinner includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, a serving of sausage, syrup, applesauce and beverages. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 10 and under. Youngsters 3 and under are free.

• State park naturalists lead a Birding on the Niagara River session from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Beaver Island State Park. Birdwatchers will focus on migrating waterfowl and other wintering birds along the shoreline. Those who attend should bring binoculars.
