The Aurora Historical Society’s 25th annual Millard Fillmore Dinner with a comic approach to the controversial 13th president who made his home in East Aurora begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., Thursday at the Roycroft Inn on South Grove Street.

The evening’s $50 meal will feature music, an appearance by “President Fillmore,” a surprise guest and the bestowing of the “Millard Mallard Award” to the politician who made the biggest blunder in 2015. Details and reservations available at aurorahistoricalsociety.com.

The Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the East Aurora branch of First Niagara Bank and 30 Greater East Aurora retailers and restaurants have partnered to offer shoppers and diners across Western New York to experience East Aurora and have an opportunity to win prizes between Friday and March 12. Shoppers can pick up a promotion card at Firefly, Taste, Vidler’s or Tony Rome’s, at any of the 26 other participating shops or at the Chamber of Commerce office.  

Shoppers take the cards to be stamped to the participating shops and when at least 15 of the locations have stamped the card it can be mailed to or dropped off at the Chamber, 652 Main St. to be eligible for the drawing.

Prizes include first price, $200 cash; second prize, $100 cash; and third prize, a $50 Chamber gift certificate that can be used at more than 100 chamber-member shops. The Chamber’s Board of Directors invites members, non-members and the community to an open meeting 7:30am to 8:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Southside Municipal Center, 300 Gleed Ave.
