Northeast District police arrested a Wyoming Avenue man early Saturday after finding a loaded semiautomatic handgun on the floor of his car.
Tamir Allen, 24, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and a SAFE Act violation, unlawful possession of certain ammunition-feeding devices.
Officers pulled over a blue Chevrolet Impala on Olympic Avenue about 4:45 a.m. after receiving word that it might have been involved in another incident they had been investigating. They allegedly found a .45-caliber pistol loaded with 10 rounds, plus one in the firing chamber, on the floor at Allen’s feet. Allen was arrested, the gun was seized and the car was impounded.
