Second Buffalo man this week arrested for child porn

Sherrod Ogletree, 20, was arrested by federal authorities Friday for allegedly producing child pornography.

His arrest came two days after federal authorities arrested Robert Pritchett, also 20 and also of Buffalo, for producing child porn and sex trafficking.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. noted that both suspects are accused of hooking up with the victims through social media channels.

“For the second time in three days, social media was the avenue by which a defendant gained access to a child, with serious consequences,” Hochul said in announcing Ogletree’s arrest.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross said authorities learned that Ogletree was posing on Facebook as a “Mrss Guwop” after one of his alleged victims complained to Buffalo Police about being extorted on line. The girl said the Facebook character got her to agree to work as a prostitute and ordered her to go to a Woodlawn Avenue address to pay her manager $20, give him a computer tablet and have sex with him. When the girl and Buffalo sex offense detectives went to the address “Mrss Guwop” turned out to be Ogletree.

Ogletree now also faces state sex crime charges after federal authorities learned he coaxed a second local girl to send “Mrss Guwop” pornographic pictures of herself, Ross said.
