Instead of a State of the City, why not a slow jam?

Mayor Byron Brown was going to announce a Tops Markets location was coming to downtown Buffalo during his State of the City address. While the news is welcome to many, we sort of wish the mayor could take the same approach Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti did earlier this week.

Check out the L.A. mayor's methodology in announcing a weekend road closure:

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

#101SlowJam

The 101 will close for 40 hours this weekend, so we're getting ready to take it slow. We teamed up with our friends at Roosevelt High School to drop a slow jam and get the word out.
