Falls man will serve five years in gun case

LOCKPORT – Cody A. Rolfe of Niagara Falls will be sentenced to five years in state prison April 22 for illegal gun possession, Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon said as Rolfe pleaded guilty Friday.

Rolfe, 33, of Mackenna Avenue, admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. It will be Rolfe’s third trip to prison; his other sentences were for burglaries.

Rolfe was one of three men arrested April 2 after the sport utility vehicle he was driving was stopped for running a red light at Niagara Falls Boulevard and 80th Street in the Falls. A loaded gun was found in a bag on the floor of the SUV, and Rolfe admitted to police that it was his.

Charges remain pending against the passengers, Charles A. Jackson III, 18, of Whitney Avenue, Niagara Falls, and Taylor Kilmer, 20, of North Seventh Street, Lewiston.
