Il Volo brings Grand Amore tour to Kleinhans

Valentine’s Day is arriving early this year. The three well-turned-out young men who make up Il Volo, the buzzed-about Italian pop vocal trio, have chosen Buffalo to kick off their spring tour, smolderingly titled Grand Amore.

To most, this trio needs no introduction. Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto have stirred the hearts of millions in their TV appearances. The two tenors and a baritone (Ginoble is the baritone) have turned out definitive performances of such Italian standards as “O Solo Mio” and “Il Mondo.”

They have branched out from there and turn up everywhere – at Latin music awards, singing the national anthem at important sports games, caroling at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting in New York City. “Il Volo” means “The Flight,” and Il Volo, constantly soaring in the charts, more than lives up to the name.

Il Volo brings Grand Amore to Kleinhans Music Hall at 8 p.m. Feb. 5. Tickets to this gala event are $77.50-$197.50. Call 885-5000.
