Deep South Taco has proposed building a new restaurant on Hertel Avenue at the corner of Starin Avenue.
Plans presented to the Planning Board call for seating for 140, and an outdoor patio offering music.
Several neighbors are concerned about potential noise and parking problems, and that the development might be too big for the neighborhood. But others have rallied to support the restaurant and look forward to its opening.
The Planning Board tabled a vote until the developers hold a community meeting and present a more detailed and complete proposal.
The restaurant would be at 1707 Hertel, in the building that was previously a Fast Track Quick Lube.
Developer Richard Hamilton said he spent $60,000 last year on an environmental cleanup.
The Hertel Business Association and Delaware District Councilman Joel Feroleto organized Tuesday’s meeting at the North Buffalo Community Center.
