TIME OF NEED – For more than 20 years, Justin Baumgardner of West Seneca and his brother Kyle, both graduates of Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School, have met the challenges of living with Diamond Blackfan anemia, a rare genetic disorder which requires monthly blood transfusions and medication. To support research into the condition and find a cure, their parents, Dawn and Peter Baumgardner, established a foundation in 1994.

Recently, however, Justin’s condition took a turn and he underwent a bone marrow transplant in Boston, Mass. Now Justin and his mother are spending an undetermined amount of time there to ensure his recovery. To help with their expenses, a To Justin With Love fundraiser will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday in Buffalo Iron Workers Hall, 196 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca.

Tickets are $25 and include food, draft beer, pop and an entry into a drawing for a seven-night stay at Emerald Island Resort in Kissimmee, Fla. For tickets and info, visit the To Justin With Love page on Facebook, email tojustinwithlove@gmail.com or call 602-0320, 359-1238 or 725-5888.
