State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman has sued a man authorities say is scamming customers in Western New York.
Joseph Lloyd, 45, of Niagara Falls, is accused of defrauding customers by taking advance payments for snow removal and other services but failing to provide those services during several recent snowfalls, Schneiderman’s office said. Some customers paid more than $275 for snow-removal services in some cases but received no services.
The lawsuit, which was filed in State Supreme Court in Erie County, seeks restitution, injunctive relief and penalties. An order was also obtained to prohibit Lloyd from disposing of any of his assets, and Lloyd is prohibited from receiving advance payments from customers, Schneiderman’s office said.
