JAMESTOWN – A 26-year-old man has been charged with setting fire to three vacant homes in Jamestown over the span of seven months last year.
Joshua D. Whalen, of Jamestown, was indicted on three counts of third-degree arson and was arraigned Monday morning in Chautauqua County Court, according to Jamestown police.
Whalen is charged in connection with the May 18 arson at 420 Falconer St.; the Oct. 25 arson at 230 McKinley Ave.; and the Dec. 24 arson at 1052½ N. Main St., police said.
The investigation into other arsons in vacant homes is continuing and additional charges are pending, authorities said.
Whalen is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail on $75,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond.
