Pappas to be sworn in as mayor of North Tonawanda

NORTH TONAWANDA – North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas will shed his interim status when he is sworn in at noon Friday in City Hall. The public is invited to attend.

Administering the oath of office will be his predecessor as mayor, State Sen. Robert G. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda. Pappas was appointed interim mayor last December after Ortt stepped down to take his seat in Albany. In November, he was elected to fill the final two years of Ortt’s term.

Also being sworn in during the ceremony will be City Court Judge Shawn P. Nickerson, City Attorney Katherine D. Alexander, City Clerk-Treasurer Daniel R. Quinn, incumbent Common Council members Phillip P. “Russ” Rizzo, Catherine Schwandt, Robert E. Pecoraro, Eric Zadzilka and Donna L. Braun; and Niagara County Legislators Richard L. Andres and Randy R. Bradt.
