Not quite ready to give up the Christmas spirit just yet? No problem, just head over to Lancaster for holiday fun and a prize. Through Dec. 30, take a stroll through the village and check out its  beautiful vintage animated windows and play a little game. You can pick up a game card at participating village merchants. Fill out the questions correctly and win a prize. Prizes are available while supplies last.

Did you have too many Christmas cookies? Thinking about a New Year’s Resolution that might include getting into better shape? How about a hike near the falls to get things started? The First Day Hike at Niagara Falls is a 2-mile hike during which you’ll hear old stories about New York’s oldest state park. The free event – which is from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 1 begins at parking lot 3 on Goat Island and is for the entire family. Registration is required by calling (716) 282-5154.

Haven’t decorated enough cookies? How about a free cookie decorating party at 1 p.m. Dec. 31 in  the Riverside Library (820 Tonawanda St.). The free event is for kids ages 4-12. Registration is required by calling 875-0562.
