Lancaster woman accused of DWI after sideswiping vehicle

A Lancaster woman was arrested late Saturday in the City of Tonawanda and charged with drunk driving after police said she sideswiped a vehicle and continued without stopping. Once caught, police said, her blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit.

Katrina A. Saxer, 33, of Broadway was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving left of pavement markings and an unsafe turn.

Saxer sideswiped a vehicle at Twin City Memorial Highway and Young Street just before midnight and continued on, police said. Officers located her vehicle on Delaware Street with driver side damage and a sideview mirror broken off, police said.

Saxer told officers she “was drinking wine during the day,” police said.

She was taken to the city police station where tests revealed she had a blood alcohol content of 0.23 percent, nearly three times the legal limit, police said. She was held on $250 bail.
