NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man died of a stab wound early Saturday morning and a city resident was later charged with manslaughter, Niagara Falls police reported.
Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to 947 Ontario Ave., where they found Troy Haslip, 26, with a single stab wound to the heart. An officer arrived within seconds of the call and performed CPR on the victim, but he died from the wound.
Detectives charged William E. Swanson, 22, of Jerauld Avenue, with first-degree manslaughter.
Family members told police that the two men knew each other but detectives are continuing to investigate the motive behind the killing.
