Three injured, one charged with DWI in Town of Niagara crash

TOWN OF NIAGARA – A grinding three-car crash Friday morning sent three people to area hospitals, with one of the victims charged with driving while intoxicated, Town of Niagara police said.

The crash of two cars and an SUV occurred at the Porter-Packard Road intersection with Military Road about 11:30 a.m., said police, who added that all three vehicles were heavily damaged. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

According to reports, one person was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, according to police.

Portions of Packard Road were shut down for about two hours after the crash. Police said they found marijuana on the driver who was arrested for DWI. Further information was unavailable.
