KRAWCZYK - Walter R. Of Amherst, NY entered into eternal rest, unexpectedly, Monday December 21, 2015 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born in Buffalo, NY Mr. Krawczyk resided in Amherst for the past forty years. He graduated from the University of Buffalo where he received a Masters Degree in Science. Walter was a retired employee of the Internal Revenue Service, Collection Branch, Buffalo after 36 years of service. He wrote a Procedure Manual for the Offer and Compromise Program. Walter received the Gallatin Award for his service and many other awards from the IRS. He was a 4th Degree member of the Madonna Council #2535 Knights of Columbus where he received an Award of Appreciation in 2004 for fifty years of membership. Walter attended every sports program his children participated in. He was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and his faithful companion Duke. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Matyjas) Krawczyk; dearest father of Melissa (Adam) Schmidt and the late Robert Krawczyk; proud and loving grandfather of Alexander and Ryan Schmidt; dear cousin of Rodney and Arlene Rawluszki and many other cousins. The family will be present to greet relatives and friends on Sunday, December 27 from 3-8 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., N. Tonawanda (692-0271). Family and friends are asked to gather at St. Christopher's R.C. Church (Niagara Falls Blvd.) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Monday (December 28) at 9:30 AM. Entombment Ascension Chapel Mausoleum, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers graciously declined. Memorial gifts may be made in Walter's honor to St. Christopher's R.C. Church.
