NT receives $7,500 state grant for Police Department

NORTH TONAWANDA – The North Tonawanda Police Department has used a $7,500 state grant to buy equipment and pay overtime costs for extra patrols during this holiday season.

State Sen. Robert G. Ortt, the former North Tonawanda mayor, said he included the money in this year’s state budget.

Besides police overtime, the city used the cash to buy a radar unit for traffic enforcement and a trailer to store and transport emergency equipment.
