MLK program set for Jan. 17

The Afro-American Historical Association of the Niagara Frontier will host its 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. program at 3 p.m. Jan. 17 in the auditorium of the Buffalo History Museum.

This year’s program will feature LaKisha Simmons, assistant professor of Global Gender Studies at the University at Buffalo. She is author of the book, “Crescent City Girls: The Lives of Young Black Women in Segregated New Orleans.”

A book signing will follow the program.

The event is free and open to the public.
