It is not too late to check out the beautiful light displays around the area.
The Festival of Lights at the Fairgrounds is shining brightly from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 26 and 27. Take in the dazzling display featuring two miles of lights with more than 60 displays. You can drive through or walk through the Winterland Workshop. There also is a Christmas Tree Forest filled with hundreds of illuminated trees. Cost is $25 for a car load.
The Festival of Lights at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine (1023 Swann Road, Youngstown) runs through Jan. 6. The lights are on daily from 5 to 9 p.m. In all there are more than 75 displays filled with wonder and color. Drive through and enjoy the display and stop by the gift shop or cafeteria for a snack.
If you’re up for a drive across the bridge to Canada, you will no doubt be dazzled by the Ontario Winter Festival of Lights. The festival attracts about one million visitors each year. It features millions of lights along a route that travels along the Niagara Parkway. You will see many animal displays like bears and deer throughout the park. The lights are on and open every night until Jan. 31. There will be a fireworks spectacular over the falls at 9 p.m. Dec. 26. It is free to drive through the displays which begin at the foot of Clifton Hill.
