Driver won’t be charged in death of pedestrian in Clarence

The driver of a vehicle that killed a woman who was walking down the middle of dark, unlit road in Clarence earlier this month will not be charged, State Police said Monday.

Investigators said they don’t know why Krista R. Hillman was walking in the middle of Lapp Road shortly before 6 p.m. on Dec. 10.

Authorities also said also don’t believe the driver intentionally struck Hillman, 22.

Hillman was transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and then transferred to Erie County Medical Center where she died, State Police reported earlier this month.
