Letter: When will mankind learn we’re all in this together?

When will mankind learn we’re all in this together?

More than ever, in this season of caring kindness, do I wish that our current human world of disparity, strife and fear were more akin to my backyard bird feeder. There, a conglomeration of various types, colors and sizes come together with a common goal, survival. They innately possess something modern man increasingly appears not to, a tolerant knowing that they are all in it together. No conflicting ideologies separate them. Neither do any of them wish to dominate the others. Sharing their food source in a peaceful way is their norm.

How wondrous it would be for us to mimic those birds, coexisting as just one species, singing our respectively distinct songs while remaining harmonious. Mankind, are you listening?
