The Orchard Park Historical Society gratefully accepted a gift of an oil painting that shows what its home base the Jolls House in 1974. The winter scene, by an artist known as “Priscilla,” is a view of the house as it looked 13 years after the death of its longtime owner Dr. Willard Jolls.
The house, built in 1869 at 4287 South Buffalo St., served as the residence and office for Jolls, a country doctor who bought the place in 1902 and lived there with his wife and a housekeeper.
The painting, donated at the the annual holiday potluck last week, was a gift from Marilyn Maul who bought it after watching the artist sit across the street with a palette and work.
