Lovering Street man facing several drug charges

A Buffalo man is facing charges after police uncovered several bags of crack cocaine and powered cocaine in a car on West Chippewa Street and a house on West Eagle Street just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Shammi K. Williams, 34, of Lovering Street, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and promoting contraband. He was found slumped lover in a vehicle, with the keys in the ignition, in the first block of West Chippewa Street, where police recovered a bag containing 11 grams of crack cocaine, according to reports.

At the house in the 100 block of West Eagle, police recovered a bag of marijuana, nine small bags of crack cocaine, five bags crack cocaine and two bags of cocaine powder – weighing a total of 38.5 grams, authorities said.
