LOCKPORT – A man who allegedly attacked a Niagara Falls cab driver with a metal crutch June 21 was arraigned Friday in Niagara County Court.
Christian A. Tabb, 37, of Buffalo Avenue, pleaded not guilty to first- and second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Assistant District Attorney Kevin D. Canali said the cabbie was standing outside his vehicle just after midnight at the cabstand outside Seneca Niagara Casino when Tabb attacked him. Canali said Tabb wasn’t injured and had simply acquired the crutch somewhere, and he said the attack, which left the cabbie with gashes on his hand and arm, was not an attempted robbery.
Canali said in court the attack was recorded on the casino’s surveillance video system.
