Diane D. Egger of East Amherst, a retired bank project manager, died Tuesday in Buffalo General Medical Center after a short illness. She was 63.
Born in Syracuse, the former Diane DePietro was a 1970 graduate of Henninger High School in Syracuse and earned an associate degree in 1972 from Maria Regina College in Syracuse.
She joined the former Marine Midland Bank in 1972 as a new accounts clerk in Syracuse and rose to become a branch manager.
As a corporate officer for Marine Midland and its successor, HSBC Bank, Mrs. Egger led many projects, including bank acquisitions, Year 2000 conversions and branch and teller automation systems. She was a senior vice president for project management when she retired in 2011.
A Buffalo-area resident since 1994, she was a devout Catholic.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, George F. II; two daughters, Cheryl Knobloch and Laurel Szulgit; two sons, John and Christopher; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Amherst.
