Cheektowaga man dies after crashing into fire hydrant and pole

A Cheektowaga man died after his vehicle struck a fire hydrant and a utility pole on the East Side of Buffalo Wednesday night, Buffalo police said.

The victim, who was identified as a 46-year-old man, was on Lang Avenue and was turning onto East End when the crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m..

He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Cheektowaga where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death was under investigation.
